Stainless steel pin locks have the advantages of corrosion resistance and structural stability and are widely used in domestic, commercial and industrial settings. However, in everyday use, due to material properties, installation techniques or usage habits, the following problems may still arise and need to be prevented and addressed in a targeted manner:
1.Locked or unable to straighten or retract
Causes of the problem
Dust/foreign object blockage: Dust and construction debris (e.g. wood chips, paint) enter the locking groove through the door, causing increased friction.
Insufficient lubrication: after long use, the lubricating oil between the locking tongue and the locking body will dry up, increasing the movement resistance.
Installation skew: The lock body's opening is not vertical, lock tongue and door frame keyhole are not consistent, forcing opening and closing cause jamming.
Material deformation: Poor stainless steel locking body may be deformed by external force (such as slamming the door too hard) or high temperature environment (such as fire), locking tongue cannot elongate and contract properly.
Solutions
Cleaning and maintenance: Clean the dust in the lock slot regularly with a small brush (such as an old toothbrush), spray with a special lock lubricant (such as WD-40) and avoid cooking oil (which absorbs dust easily).
Adjusting and installing: Check that the lock opening is vertical. If they are slanted, new spaces need to be opened up. If the lock on the door frame is deformed, it can be corrected with a file.
Replace lock body: If the lock body is severely deformed (e.g. tongue bend), replace stainless steel lock body of the same specification (the Feijing A802-68×60 model 60).
ii. Difficulty inserting or removing keys
Causes of the problem
Key wear: long-term use will lead to key tooth wear, and lock core pin matching degree will be reduced.
Dust in the lock core: Dust gets inside the lock core and hinders the key from being inserted or rotated.
Lock core misalignment: During installation, the lock core is not aligned with the lock body, or during use, due to the influence of external forces, the lock core is not aligned.
Low-temperature solidification: When used outdoors in winter (such as distributor lock), the lubricant inside the lock can solidify due to low temperature, increasing insertion resistance.
Solutions
Change the key: Keep the spare key. If the primary key is badly worn, a new key should be copied immediately (choosing the same model as the original key tooth pattern is recommended).
Clean lock: Spray a small amount of lock lubricant into the lock, insert the key and turn it several times to remove dust.
Adjust the lock core: If the lock core is not aligned properly, remove the lock core and re-install to ensure that the lock core is aligned with the hole in the lock core.
Antifreeze treatment: In winter, outdoor locks can be coated with antifreeze lubricant (such as low-temperature lithium base grease) or wrapped in insulation materials.
iii. The lock came loose or fell off
Causes of the problem
4. Loosen screws: installation screws that are improperly tightened or become loose due to vibration after prolonged use (e.g. frequent opening and closing of doors).
Portal deformation: The gap between the lock and the door increases when the wood door expands due to dampness or shrinkage during drying, or when the steel door deforms due to external forces.
Improper installation: Too large a keyhole for screws to hold the keyhole in place, or no matching screws (e.g., insufficient length) are used.
Solutions
Tightening screws: Check regularly that the screws on the lock and panel are loose and tighten them with a screwdriver to an appropriate force (to avoid excessive force causing disconnection).
Adjust the door: If the door is deformed, the wooden door can be adjusted by adjusting the position of the hinge. Deformed parts of the steel door need to be repaired by contacting a specialist.
Re-install: If the hole is too large, fill the gap with wood chips and glue and re-install. Use matching screws (such as stainless steel screws provided by Feijing Brand Lock).
Four. Fewer burglars.
Causes of the problem
Low lock core rating: A lock core (single row pin structure), technical unlock time is only 1-5 minutes, poor security.
Anti-theft door upper and lower hook fault: anti-theft door upper and lower hook is not connected to the lock body, or cannot be extended due to rust, reducing the anti-theft grade.
Plate damage: Stainless steel panels when forced open (such as screwdriver, crowbar, etc.), easy to cause secondary damage, leaving traces.
Solutions
Lock upgrade: replaced with a C-Class lock (double-sided blade + idle structure), with the technical unlocking time exceeding 270 minutes (as with the Feijing A801-68 model).
Check top and bottom hooks: Check top and bottom hooks regularly for smooth scaling. If it rusts, spray lubricant. If something goes wrong, please contact the manufacturer for repair.
Reinforced panel: Install stainless steel protective plates (304, thickness ≥2mm) is installed around the plate to make it more difficult to pry.
